FIRE RESISTANT CHEMICAL CABINETS
What is EN 14470 Standard?
Although there are other standards for Safe Storage Cabinets, the EN 14470 compliant Type 90 technology represents the state of the art even today. Furthermore, EN14470 is the only standard that guarantees a specifically defined safe time in the event of a fire for personnel and, moreover, for firefighters and rescue workers.
90-minute fire rated cabinets according to EN14470 fulfill all these criteria without additional restrictions or requirements in terms of building structure.

About Fire Resistant Chemical Cabinets
All fire-resistant safety cabinets must be safely tested in a combustion chamber by an independent material testing laboratory. They are therefore tested to prove the fire protection class according to the strict requirements of the European Standard EN 14470 Part 1-2.
Fire-resistant chemical cabinets are tested according to the requirements of the applicable safety regulations. Thanks to the successful results of the GS tests, an independent organization, the wider GS test program proves and confirms that they are of the highest quality and sufficiently robust.
The GS mark is only awarded, for example, when the tested products have successfully passed 50,000 continuous mechanical tests without damage. This is how fire-resistant safe storage cabinets have proven their success.
On Safe Storage of Hazardous Substances
Clear classification and storage of chemicals is of utmost importance. Most work accidents in laboratories are caused by incorrect storage of chemicals. “The overall objective of this directive is to ensure that chemicals are stored correctly and that risks caused by chemicals are avoided as far as possible.
